ellenaterMemberI love Amazon Fresh! (Thanks Jen V) We just got back from a very long and physically exhausting trip out east. I knew we wouldn’t feel like grocery shopping and were getting in late Friday night, so I had my delivery set for 6 am on Sat. morning. Everything was perfect! I am beyond pleased. They carry almost everything we normally eat and the prices are reasonable. We usually have to go to at least two stores due to my son’s food allergies. Amazon carries a lot of gluten free items and best of all, some things we’d never even heard of. The prices on these are comparable to PCC and less than Whole Foods. We had the gluten free english muffins from our order today and they were awesome. I am really, really happy with their service so far and would recommend them to anyone!!

MagpieParticipantI guess we can all get along!! Looking at the posts on this thread, some of the folks that are more contentious on some other threads (hint: the political ones) are in total agreement about how awesome Amazon Fresh is. Nice to know we can find some common ground afterall!!

JoMemberJust received my 2nd order from Amazon Fresh. And like last week, I received everything I ordered, no substitutions. Different driver this time, so told him to be sure to let his superiors know that we are discussing AF on WSB and everyone is RAVING! He said he would.
I also mentioned about maybe adding a feature where we can mark ‘no substitutions’; re: in my case no FLAVORED Talking Rain substituted for PLAIN (no flavor that I’m addicted to). Will also follow up with an email to customer service at AF.

HPMemberGreat idea Jo ! Magpie I second that, but we all know politcs and religion are often hard to discuss without peoples blood pressue rising. :)

c@lbobMemberGenHill, I have the same problem with Amazon Fresh…I compare two things: diet barq and cat litter. AF is twice as much as safeway and never has a sale. We do use delivery for heavy things and “staples” and I do mind their random substitution. MIL only wants one kind of frozen chicken dinner and NO they cannot bring me another kind. Usually can get a “free delivery” deal, so, much as AF is tempting, for now, we stick to Safeway. (I’m posting this, not to debate, but so someone can tell me that if I wait long enough I can get two-fers on the Barq and <25 cents a pound for cat litter :-))

RonMParticipantSuper RAVE for Amazonfresh!
We received our order this morning (Sunday) in 12 tote boxes. After taking everything out of the boxes and starting to put things away, we couldn’t find the bread, muffins and buns we ordered and paid for. We called their customer service to report it. They said that the driver may have forgotten a tote box and they’d notify him. Otherwise they’d give us a refund. That was okay with us.
We’d ordered 4 dozen Mountain Bars (children and grandchildren) which were in a bag themselves. Then as we began taking them out of the bag, there were our missing bakery products on the bottom!
I called customer service right back and told them that we’d found the missing items. They thanked me, but then said that they had already credited my account with $10.27 and consider it a gift for doing business with them! They insisted that we keep the refund. Now I feel a little guilty, but will be continuing our orders through Amazonfresh…

JoBParticipantHubby has been after me to use them.. but like others i checked prices and decided they would be more expensive…
However.. and this is a big however.. i went to the store a day ago to get milk and something sweet. I came back $60 later with things that we have enjoyed but that i didn’t need.
When i think about it, impulse shopping is too large part of my grocery experience. I don’t even have to factor in the gas.
Maybe i should just do all my impulse shopping at canned foods where it’s cheap and do the rest online…
or do those of you who shop online find themselves impulse shopping there?

ellenaterMemberJoB, I cannot rave enough about Amazon Fresh and it is partly because of impulse shopping. I make my orders and then wait until the next day to place it. Gives me time to look in the pantry and see what we really need. Often times, I take a bunch of stuff off. I get the pre-dawn delivery and they have never screwed up. This is especially nice if you go on a trip and are tired and don’t want to deal with grocery shopping. My son cannot eat wheat or dairy and AF has the best selection I have seen of these foods. They also take requests. We normally shop at Thriftway, Trader Joes, and PCC. We used to shop at Whole Paycheck when we lived in North Seattle and that was a travesty! The customer service has also been amazingly good. Last but not least, my order has always been complete and fresh. The produce is often waaaay better than at the store. Lasts longer, like market produce. The one item I tried and found nasty they refunded me for, no questions asked. When you consider gas, time spent, and those last minute items, it’s actually a great deal. I hope you will try them! And no, I am no in their marketing dept., I just LOVE their service!!! Let us know if you decide to try it and what you think!
Cheers,
Ellen

ellenaterMemberUm, I had to bump this again because I am so in love with Amazon Fresh. They are my boyfriend. They give me legos, too. I simply cannot rave about them enough. I cannot tell you how much better our life is because of them! If you haven’t tried them yet, do so immediately. You won’t be sorry!!

AnonymousInactiveellenater – You crack me up!
I will second your rave, though, as I have come to love Amazon Fresh too! I also highly recommend trying them if you haven’t.
I thought they were MY boyfriend!!!! :)

JenVMembercrap. and here I have been thinking they were MY BF. But, they have never given me legos. They just take my money…some boyfriend. ;)
September 22, 2008 at 11:30 pm #635283
BayouMemberAnd I was beginning to think that I was doing something wrong because I’ve never gotten legos either! Can I borrow someone’s kid for my next delivery?
September 23, 2008 at 12:34 am #635284
ellenaterMemberWell my BF is not faithful. They’ve been giving out legos all over the neighborhood. But they swear they loves me best ;)
JenV and Bayou, you don’t have to be a kid to get them…just add a note in your delivery instructions requesting them.
