Cait – I’ll have to give the Celtic Swell another try on a weeknight. I don’t mind crowds or noise, but excessive PDA amongst 20 somethings makes me queasy.

Datamuse – Yes, I liked St. Andrews. Only been there once and was actually in search of McEwan’s and Belhaven (don’t think I tried a Guinness). Was sad to hear that McEwan’s is no longer imported to the U.S.

Everyone else – For those in search of the highest ratio of alcohol to price, look no further than the Baranof in Greenwood. Quite a drive, but should definitely be experienced at least once. You will need a ride home.

Sure, the Celtic Swell is, allegedly, Celtic and for a booze-soaked mic like me, that is worth something, I reckon. In it’s defense, the Sysco trucks double parked in front of the place make it quite easy to find.

As a true Dub I haven’t been back in the Celtic Swell since I was poured a brutal Guinness there on my first visit three years ago.Although it is owned by Irish people, they are marketing their bar to an American audience and who can blame them. However it resembles no Irish bar I was ever in Ireland in the 35 years I lived there.

There is pretty good Guinness to be had in WS by the way (apart from my deck),not sure I want to share the location though:)..

ps Thee, PaulD said we should meet and discuss the above:)
