I tried to talk to you via the phone today, but you just wanted to know how I got your phone number and then hung up on me.

Many people went out of their way to track you down and try to make your cat comfortable until you could be found. But in the end you blamed them in part for your cat’s death. Your cat weighed 5lbs, wasn’t eating or drinking, and was constipated.

Had your cat’s microchip been current or if he were wearing a collar and tag, he would have been returned to you much sooner.

So rather than blaming all of the kind people who tried to help him, you should be thanking them for trying to help him feel more comfortable until the friend that you had left him with was finally able to come get him.

I’m grateful for what you did, even if this ‘person’ is not. You do what you do for the animals, because they are what counts. They are the innocent victims of negligent or cruel humans. Their lives have inherent value and meaning, independent of human calculation. I wish that the suffering experienced by so many animals could be visited instead on the perpetrators – but that would be a different world than the one we live in.

Thank you for what you did and what you continue to do.

Thank you anonyme, I really didn’t do anything. Many, many people stepped in to help before I met the cat with one of those very kind people who had brought it to the vet for care. I am just so frustrated to see that the owner was not the least bit grateful for the people who went over and above to help.

Grief and guilt are powerful emotions. I’m not surprised that the owner wasn’t able to accept your call, mehud7, but their lack of gratitude doesn’t cancel out the kindness shown to this poor cat.
