I hate porch pirates. Not really clear on how a gun would help. You would need to actually see them stealing your package and in that case you could open the door and take a picture of them and their vehicle (if they have one). Crooks run from trained police officers that have guns so what would stop them from running from you? I much prefer a box on the porch full of dog poop.
