So to me it’s really inconvenient to have to fax a resume and cover letter somewhere, because imo most people don’t have fax machines for the hell of it. I need to fax some resumes as it was the only option they are taking and at one time I had heard that is wasn’t wise to fax from Staples or Office Max. With being newer to the area I’m not sure where to start looking on where I’d be able to fax from.

can you scan and e-mail the document? i have found scanning to be way better and no longer fax anything.

Conversely, some places still ask for faxes because not everyone has access to scanners.

There’s a mailing supply place in Morgan Junction that I don’t know the name of, so can’t look it up for you (sorry.) However, it’s on the west side of California Avenue near Aaron’s Bike Shop. There’s a mailbox on the street in front, so pretty easy to find.

I’m fairly sure they send faxes. Worth a look-see on the way to Abbondanza or Starbucks anyway!

Good luck with the job hunt!

The place that Velvet Bulldog recommends is:

Mailbox West 6523 California Ave SW Tel: 206-937-7385.

Another landmark related to it, is Thriftway, across the street.

I use faxes in my business…easier to fax things to insurance companies than send in the mail, and chance that they get lost. Less time involved, get paid quicker :) It may be old technology to some, but it’s stil used by others :)

Zebra Print at the corner of 35th and Fauntleroy does faxing. Too bad they don’t take email!

This article describes some options for faxing from a computer:

    • Fax software built into Windows Vista and XP (not sure about Windows 7
    • a few free internet services.

Might be useful for those one off needs like the OP describes.
