shed22ParticipantI believe there is a pay phone still standing at Alki, where the promenade ends and the beach begins, near the seal sculpture.

pigeonmomParticipantThere are two at the Fauntleroy ferry dock. One outside the terminal building and one inside next to the pop machine.

MrsLMemberThere is at least one outside the QFC in the Westwood Village by the bike racks near the south doors. The phone booths are kind of hidden because of the plant displays. Last time we parked our bikes there, someone was using it.

I used to submit reports and stories until they changed the site to what is essentially a twitter/facebook/instagram feed.
I can confirm that the payphones on Alki (as previously mentioned) and at the QFC are in working order. All three (2 at QFC) can make and receive calls and all have their number posted on them. The one at the ferry dock is also in working order, and there are two at the Roxbury Safeway- one by the gas pumps and one next to the store proper. Those are the only ones I have discovered in West Seattle, although there seem to be plenty along Ambaum from White Center to Burien.

CMParticipantThere’s one in front of the Lucky Mart at 35th and Henderson, but I’m pretty sure its not working. Hand sanitizer is your friend.

valvashonParticipant“A payphone stands at the corner of 35th and Morgan outside the Walgreens parking lot”
You’re right, lindytwo- I forgot about that one. It’s the scariest payphone ever. During my reporting stint at Payphone News, I stayed away from that one. Took no pictures, didn’t pick it up, didn’t try to dial it, nothing. Was up at 5am one time on a Sunday morning last summer, full daylight, nobody around or awake. Would have been a perfect time to write up a report and take pictures, but I didn’t. Did I mention I’m scared of it?

Did a write up for these on Payphone News a while back, but the article isn’t there anymore- just my pictures. Anyway, these have long been out of service. One of the two is still at the Lucky 5, but it no longer has a dial tone or accepts quarters.

metrognomeParticipantnot sure if it’s still there, but there used to be one outside the Thriftway in Morgan Junction, at the south end of the store.

seaopgalParticipantLove your mania, er, I mean *passion* for payphones, valvashon! What’s up with the scary one at Walgreens? I mean, what makes it different?
Guess the one in the Junction, outside Radio Shack/WaMu bank is long gone, huh? (Sort of like Radio Shack and WaMu …)

Day and night, there’s just a lot of “important hanging out to do” in that parking lot, as my wife puts it.
