Part time nanny/mother’s helper needed

Professional couple seeking part time nanny/mother’s helper for West Seattle family close to Alki Beach and Metropolitan Market.

About our children:
Two girls, age 3 and newborn. Three year old is into dinosaurs, princesses, reading, imaginative play, and being rough and rowdy outside. Very communicable, type A, and positive personality. Scared of garbage trucks! Loves the beach, parks, spray parks, shopping at Target. Bad dancer, but does it anyways. Not yet potty trained, but getting curious. Eats just about everything.

Newborn loves eating, pooping, and sleeping. Adorable and precious in every way.

Duties
Light housekeeping (sweeping, vacuuming, take trash and diapers out, load/unload dishwasher, towels/linens and kids laundry)

Schedule/Hours
+ 20-30 hours/week at 20/hr through payroll/direct deposit.
+ Sample schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 10-4pm (flexible and open for discussion)
+ One of these days per week entails a 14 hour shift from 6am to 8pm while mother and father are both at work. On her days off, mother is out and about throughout the day.
+ Date night every other week

Working Style/Parenting Philosophy
We are looking for someone who is proactive rather than reactive. Authentic with our children while being mindful of their age. Authoritative, not totalitarian. Gentle and compassionate and above all else, honest and forthright. In our household, we embrace failure and humility as a part of growth and education. We teach our kids empathy and allow the freedom to be open, vulnerable with their feelings, creative, and a silly. We honor boundaries and routines but it’s okay to break the rules every once in a while. We are also looking for someone who has experience balancing two children independently. We are a smoke free and non-pet family.

Requirements
+ CPR certified and able to swim
+ Lift 30-40lbs
+ Must have a license and smoke-free car, with a clean driving record
+ Non-smoker
+ Must be on time
+ Knowledge of early childhood development and second language is not required, but highly appreciated.

Benefits
15 days PTO, paid time and 1/2 if working a major holiday.

Start date
Early to mid August
