Janet M.ParticipantSeeking a new Opthamologist here in West Seattle.
Have been driving to Minor and James for many years but ready to find one closer. Seems to be a new clinic in Morgan Junction, also, see an office in Westwood. Please advise if you have seen a great Doctor in either of these offices or anywhere else here in W.S. Thank you in advance.

FranciParticipantWest Seattle Vision Clinic is the new office in the Morgan Junction. I highly recommend them, I recently moved my eye care there.
The whole staff including the doctors is great!

MRS.SRParticipantWS Optix is the BEST. Service is excellent, great choices and Dr. Gormley is the best around.
My 0.02.

seaopgalParticipantDr. Gormley may be great, but he is an optometrist not an ophthalmologist.
I’ve been happy at West Seattle-Highline Eye Clinic in Westwood, although my doc recently retired, so I can’t recommend anyone in particular.

SueParticipantI could be wrong, but I believe the doctors at West Seattle Vision are not ophthalmologists. I find most people don’t realize there’s a difference between optometrists, ophthalmologist and opticians. Info on the differences for those interested: http://www.aapos.org/terms/conditions/132

SueParticipantForgot to mention, I’ve been seeing Dr. Weingeist at West Seattle Eye Clinic (the one in Westwood Village) for several years. They ARE opthalmologists there. I like him very much, but the thing is that I have some quirky vision issues and have a terrible time getting a correct prescription. I’m not 100% sure if it’s them or me, but I suspect me as this goes back to the east coast. One thing I can say is that they are patient with me and have re-done my glasses without extra charge. And once when my vision changed 6 months later, I was told that because the doctor changed my prescription less than 6 months later, there would be no charge. I also find the eyeglass center on the lower level to be really good – especially Daniel. I’ve considered checking out another dr., but have had no success finding another opthalmologist in West Seattle (at least one that takes my insurance, if one exists otherwise). Oh, and Dr. Weingeist, after an exam, was able to alert me to the fact that I should get checked for diabetes due to some eye changes (and he was right – it had been triggered by a medication I was on, and I had no idea).

JanSParticipantI was seeing Dr. Lechner at the same clinic, Sue. He recently retired. Thanks for mentioning who you see, as I will need an eye exam soon….

gmabettyParticipantMy opthamalogist did my cataracs on both eyes, monitors my glaucoma and does my eye examines. Their office doesn’t make glasses. I been seeing him for 7 years, recommended through West Seattle Swedish Clinic. Dr. Zollman is at 16th and Jefferson. Not close to our area but I have full confidence in him.

ellenaterMemberI second West Seattle Vision at Morgan Junction. Dr. Julia Tran was very thorough, explained everything, was kind, and extremely down to earth; and they even let you set up payment plans, if you need to. They have brand new equipment and their glasses selection is great. I also love my new contacts, which correct astigmatism. Please go on Yelp to read reviews, also.
I honestly can’t say enough good things about them. Some new businesses are ‘good’ just at the beginning to draw in new people. But I have a feeling West Seattle Vision will be around for years to come, just because Dr. Tran is so flippin’ amazing. Honestly, i’ve never had a better eye exam.
