Has anyone else noticed the house or garage with a tent, chairs, and flower pots on the roof on Beach Drive for the past week or two? It’s right by Atlas. It appears that people are living on the roof in a dome tent. The house does not appear to be very structurally sound and it looks like they might be holding parties up there. Scary. I am just wondering if anyone else has seen this, maybe I am seeing things. I thought it was an odd siting.

I noticed it for the first time last Wednesday. No pic, but it sure caught my eye when I was headed south on Beach Drive last week.

I haven’t seen it, but when I was a teenager in NYC we always hung out on the roof – it was our party place. God knows how we didn’t fall off those slanted roofs. LOL!

Wow! I have so many stories about this house. I actually lived in this house a couple years ago. It’s quite interesting. Amazing view, but the roof is a mess and the foundation, structure, and electrical issues are not safe at all. I am very surprised the house has not been condemned. The thought of these people on the roof of that house really scares me. If I go by again I’ll take a pic.

I don’t suppose they have wood carvings out front? That report sounds like the house behind WS Nursery discussed in a home-page thread a while back, when we innocently dropped by to check out a reader report about the wooden sculpture of a minotaur, and opened a humongous neighborhood can of worms about the house and its safety risks — TR

Yikes! No, I don’t think it’s the same house. This house is right below Atlas, 6300 block on Beach drive, on the water side. lowmanbeach, I think I know the house you are talking about. Both are scary.

Rhonda at BDB was kind enough to take a photo:

I am behind on home-page posts but uploaded it so it would have a URL.

In not-too-distant-future upgrades, I will be finding out if the forums could be enabled with pix, avatars, a few features like that in case people would like to use them.

Jan – Jack Torrence of ‘The Shining’ could be my avatar. “Wendy…I’m home!”

I first went to Heida’s lil school in Pioneer Square in the mid-80’s. My second try in 90′ was with Paul Rerucha at his school at Greenlake.

Yes, this is it! The owners or people living there are pretty rude to people walking by when they are drinking on the roof.
