someone mentioned in a thread a few days ago that they had trouble finding Mexican Coca Cola (with sugar instead of HFCS). When I was at the MJ Thriftway tonite, I noticed that they carry it in cases (odd size; I think there are 16 bottles) and have singles chilled in the refrigerator cases on the north side of the building. I asked one of the staff and he said they usually have it and to ask if you don’t see it. The cases I saw were at the end of an aisle, near the dairy products, not in the pop aisle.

I have seen Mexican Coca Cola at Admiral Bartell’s. Mexican Orange Fanta, too!

It’s cheapest by the case at Costco (even cheaper than Restaurant Depot).

Hey Everyone, if you’re just looking for singles, we sell the “real sugar” bottled Sprite, Coke and Orange Fanta at Giannoni’s! Coca Cola sets the retail price for us – they’re $1.99 and just a funny FYI, Coca Cola Corp no longer allows their employees or retailers to refer to them as “Mexican” but rather, “Imported”.

Amazon fresh sells 12 oz bottles by the 24-pack for $21.49, called “Mexican Coca-Cola”.

Saw real sugar 7-UP at Met Market yesterday. $5.99 for a six pack. Located by the food bar area.

It’s about $4 less at Costco, Austin.

But they don’t deliver, so maybe the extra $$ are worth it for some.

I’m too cheap to give Bezos any more cash than is absolutely necessary.

Seen for about $16 – 17 very recently. (6/2011) Costco I think – but please don’t hold me to that :)

Yes, it’s sugar, which is why it tastes so much better than the HFCS formula.

when I started this thread, I guess I should have been clear that I don’t advocate that anyone actually *drink* this stuff. I think it is best used for cleaning silverware, clearing clogged drains and occasionally mixing with rum.

Cuba Libre! My very first alcoholic drink!

I think of Coca-Cola more as a digestive tonic than a soft drink; kind of like draino for the gut.

The saying goes that an alcoholic remembers their first drink. Well, I remember my first Coke. It was at the soda fountain in my dad’s drugstore in the 50s. It was served in a coke glass with chipped ice. I remember the slight burning sensation as it went down my throat. Utter perfection! If the stuff is/was that dangerous I should have been dead many, many years ago. Nobody on the planet has consumed more Coke, or Diet Coke, than me.

I have looked at Soda Stream a few times and contemplated it. How do you like it? Pros? Cons?

The SodaStream is awesome, we’ve had it two years now.

We don’t use flavors as we’re addicted to plain carbonated water. What I like best about it is the ability to make the water as carbonated as you like since my preference is for my seltzer water to bring tears to my eye.

At first SS had issues getting the replacement canisters to their customers but they’ve overcome that and you can buy the canisters in many places right here in WS (Bartells, True Value).

If I had a Soda Stream, I would drink more booze instead of more sody-pops.

Not that it would really be THAT bad a thing…
