Amy J.ParticipantI’d love any recommendations on good quality, reliable area contractors who are willing to take on smaller home jobs. Though my house is small it does need fairly substantial indoor and outdoor work. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

rockergirl5678ParticipantThere are several contractors whom are WS Blog sponsors who are great contractors. I am familiar with Potter and know several people whom work there – great company. Good luck with your remodel/projects!

datamuseParticipantWe used Sherwood Construction to fix up our deck and do our siding. They did a fantastic job and specialize in smaller projects. We’ll be calling them when we get around to replacing our fence.

dhgParticipantBill Babb, Better Builders, right across from Terrible Beauty in the junction. He’s a custom home builder and remodeler. Does excellent work and won’t disappear as soon as the job is done.

WilloRockParticipantJon Karwoski of All Around Interiors is awesome… He is an honest man, who does great quality work but is also reasonable. I too have a substantial amount of work being done at my home and have been nothing but pleased with everything he has done.

MSWSMemberStay away from Eric Marsh of Marsh Remodeling.
Marsh stole both money and property from me and my children.
Check out the pocket door he installed and billed for:

…if i’m ranting I have talked to him about this.

Seattle TrashMemberHi Amy-
FWIW, Potter and Ventana both turned down my bathroom remodel as it was going to be an under 10k project (Ventana quoted me twice as much over the phone). Never heard back from Better Builders. Now working with a designer (friend of friend) who doesn’t work in West Seattle typically–otherwise I’d recommend! We’ve secured contractors on our own, but have a PM overseeing the project and coordinating between contractors–who did our friends places in Snohomish and Kirkland. If you are looking for someone for specific projects (gardening, tile, etc.) let me know!
Good luck!

bob harrisonParticipantGreetings Amy,
If given the opportunity, I would love to tour the property and understand your vision. I am a landscape designer and installer with a scholastic horticulture background and years of experience in the field. There are several local projects you could drive by to see my recent work and I can provide refrences. The other construction projects require integration to the exterior and, I would love to meet with your chosen contractors in design development. Whether a spruce up of what you own or a complete installation, I appreciate the opportunity for us to beautify your experience.
Talk soon,
Bob Harrison

We are a WS based small general contractor specializing in custom remodel and exterior hardscape design and installation. We are licensed, bonded and insured and would be happy to meet with you to talk about your project needs. You can see examples of our work on our website which is linked under my user name. Best of luck with your projects.

robirdaParticipantFYI………..I would not recommend STS Construction. I had some work done and it was nothing but mistakes after mistakes, and the finished product (they called it finished) was, let’s say less than desirable.
I wish you all the luck. Make sure you get references and photo’s of completed jobs.
