rs261MemberNot Safeway, Met market, PCC, etc. an actual butcher shop. Does anyone know of anyplace to get some fantastic fresh chicken or lamb, or pork?
Thanks in advance!

ZenguyParticipantThere is a real butcher shop on Ambaum past Huckleberry Sqare near 156th on the East side of the street. I have never been there though

MCMMemberIt is not an actual butcher shop you walk into but the meat is amazing and delivered once a month to a West Seattle location. Check out http://www.thunderinghooves.net

jessmallettMemberI have friends who use the one down on Ambaum and another (who does competition BBQ) who swears by Bob’s Quality Meats on Rainer in Columbia City.
I have happily eaten the food they prepare from both these butcher shops!

IrukandjiParticipantSeaBreeze Farm is at the Farmers Market on Sunday, and they just opened up their own retail shop/charcuterie on Vashon. Well worth the trip!

JanSParticipantBob’s Meats in Columbia City used to be located in the Junction where Taqueria Guaymas is now…so it’s kind of a local connection…and they have great meat…

rs261MemberThanks everyone. I have gone to seabreeze’s shop, the lamb we had from there was spectacular…but, I dont know how often I’ll make it out there, or to the farmers market before they run out of what we want.
I thought about giving thunderinghooves a try earlier…but I like to see what I’m getting before I buy it.
Thanks for the info on EM’s and Bobs as well!

ZenguyParticipantI did not know Bob’s was originally in the junction. I remember going there as a kid, fish on one side and meat on the other…sawdust on the floor too. We were pretty poo’ back then and mom would buy hot dog ends and we would line them up in the bun to make a whole dog…good memories.
