Mom-in-Law is in hospice care and is heavily sedated. She has hours, not days left of life. Hasn’t eaten or had fluids for six days. On constant morphine drip with adivan (sp?) for anxiety. I dug through some of her old files and she has a Last Will & Testament from approximately 1994-1998. Since that time, she’s gone through two husbands, and has lost a son.
The only heir to the estate is her daughter. We would like to “revise” this past/old will or draw up a new one altogether…although I realize this will be tough because the patient cannot talk or sign her name. Daughter has Durable Power of Attorney (NOT Power of Attorney), and there is a Living Will for medical decisions. By the way, the last document she was capable of agreeing to sign was a Quitclaim Deed to her house which is entirely paid for…so at least we’ve got that going for us. But still, there are other matters which need to be dealt with as well.
Are there any family law attorneys in the West Seattle area that can help me/us post-haste?
Many thanks,
Steven
