Insect swarm

Anyone else having a swarms of skinny flying bugs with red legs hatching outside in the last couple days? Not sure if it’s some kind of fly/wasp or beetle. I was going to try and catch one and look it up online but wondered if anyone else was seeing the same thing.

For around 30 seconds or so, during my walk along the beach side of Lincoln Park this morning, I had something aggressively circling around my head.

Couldn’t get a good enough look at it, since it was flying so fast, but it had the flying behavior of a bee.

And yes, while briskly walking with my allergies and asthma kicking up, I was being a mouth breather! ;-)
