pattileaParticipantWe did this about 6 months ago, we love it. Just watch youtube tutorials to set it up. We also bought chromecast for streaming.

JKBParticipantOr try a human one! The robots tend to short out if caught in the rain.

goodatwritingParticipantCheck out the guy at the Senior Center in West Seattle. Just look up their website. He runs the computer lab and teaches on Tuesday am, I believe. I’ve heard good things about him, he does house calls, and he-s reasonable.

JeannieParticipantI hope to join the “cut the cable club,” too. You’d think DirecTV and Comcast would get a clue and cut their costs, but that’s unlikely. ANYWAY, in addition to the digital (or HD?) antenna and possibly a Roku player, as well as my laptop with WiFi, does one need any other hardware?

clark5080ParticipantRoku players work well never tried one on WIFI I have ours hard wired to our network it works great that way

JeannieParticipantHi, Best! What are your rates? Also, I see that you’re planning to move soon, so how long will you be around before you light out for the Texas Territory?

Azzreal21MemberIf you still need help installing this I can help out. I have been in the computer field for 7 years and I have been an electronics geek for a lifetime :) I have been a “Cable cutter” for three years now. I personally use Wi-Fi, HD antennas, Rouku, Chromecast, and the Amazon Fire stick.

HelperMonkeyParticipantHappy member of the “cut the cord” group, using and loving Chromecast. I purchased a guide from Amazon for the Chromecast – I am done with it. If anyone wants it, let me know – happy to part with it. “unlock the power of your chromecast” http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1494820609/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
edited to add, this is not the March 2015 edition, it is an earlier edition. still lots of great info tho!

BestSeattleMemberHi Jeanie, I can set it all up for you for a flat fee of $50, plus the cost of the equipment that you want to get. I can make some recommendations depending on your needs and television connections, etc., and you can purchase it from Amazon.
I will be in West Seattle for at least another 3-4 weeks, so we have plenty of time if you need me to make any adjustments.
You can reach me at 206-939-2811.
