Just a friendly reminder if you have a hummingbird feeder up during the winter. If it's going to get below 28 degrees F, pull the feeder in the house over night as this is the temperature where the nectar starts to freeze. Don't forget to put it back out just before dawn. I know from last year's posts, some have rigged external heat sources for their feeders. Sweet!

I have at least two male Anna's hummingbirds chowing down on my feeder during the winter. They literally lived at my feeder during the cold and snow of last year.

    Cheers to all.

Thanks for the reminder! I've been thinking about that as this cold snap starts…we've got one male and two female Anna's (and I think there's another male who occasionally makes it past the primary male's guard) who relied on our feeder during last years' snows and have been back in full force since about mid-November.
