“Chief Sealth International High School and Denny International Middle School have hosted Chinese Guest Teachers through an exchange program with China for many years.
“This has been a great experience for both of our schools which led to the creation of a K-12 Mandarin Chinese program in SPS, and helped us make the connections that resulted in our schools hosting the Confucius Institute for the State of Washington and the biannual student exchange with our sister school in Chongqing.
“We are very excited that soon we will be welcoming two new guest teachers for the 2015 - 2016 school year, Mr. Tao Ye and Ms. Gong Mou.
“To ensure the success of the program and to offer the Chief Sealth/Denny community the opportunity to get involved in this great experience, we are currently looking for families willing to open up your home for one of our guests from China. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Chinese culture, to pick up a bit of the language and to make a new life-long friend.
“If you are interested in serving as a host family, or know of someone in West Seattle who would be interested, please contact the Chief Sealth International High School Main Office at 252-8850 or the Denny International Middle School Main Office at 252-9000. The staff and students at CHIHS and DIMS thank you in advance for your hospitality.”
