We have health insurance but am looking at making a change during open enrollment. There are so many variables and questions so I am looking for someone to assist us. I thought I saw a recommendation last year on WSB but cannot find it. If anyone has any recommendations (hopefully in WS), that would helpful. Thanks!

Not in West Seattle, BUT in the past he says he will make house calls, even to WS. My wife and I have had a WONDERFUL relationship with Dan Maizel on Mercer Island for the past several years. He takes the time to get to know you, and your needs.

    .

Dan has 30+ years in the insurance business and really knows the industry. His services are FREE as he makes his salary on commissions. I don’t work for him, but go ahead and tell him Kevin sent you, as I’m just sure one of these days he will buy me a large Starbucks drink :) If you choose to meet with him in his office, he is easy to find, and located almost next to I-90.

JoB – you might check to see who brokers your husband’s plan. If it’s through an employer they might have someone who can help you look at options for exiting their plan. It’d probably be in their best interest to get medicare eligible participants off the group plan, so they’ll likely be happy to help.

When the website for the Washington Exchange was broken, I called Nick Metcalf of Omni Insurance. ( http://www.omni-insurance.net ) He was able to explain the options and enroll me in the plan best for me. It doesn’t cost any extra and it’s nice to make a call and ask for something to get done rather than figure it out on my own. 253-639-3506
