JiggersMemberAlright…. I am not a big Bloody Mary fan so what else is there for the day after.

JenVMemberRed Beer – mix tomato juice with PBR. If you don’t dig tomato juice, just a cold PBR – but must be drunk in a can. Canned crappy beer as cold as you can get it. Tecate is also good.

TammiWSMemberI have a friend who swears by Pedialite….I recently tried a sports drink called Gleukos – it worked pretty well.
What has never worked is coffee…

BG39MemberTammi, I’m a coffee drinker for sure but I am with you, coffee does NOT help with a hangover.
Cranberry juice is usually my choice for the next morning.

austinMemberKahlua mixed with chai and milk with a large breakfast; ham, bacon, eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, orange and tomato juice, toast, etc. Followed by liberal intake of hashish.

MissKMemberWhat helps me is anything salty and fattening. Eggs, bacon, toast, has browns. I pay two days…one for the day of drinking and then the next by gorging on junk all day. Oh and another helper for a hangover….sleep. I’ve never been able to have another drink the next day. I always swear I will NOT drink again. LOL

ellenaterMemberI used to swear by an egg mcmuffin and a sprite. I, too, cannot drink the next day.

guidosmomMemberI am very thankful I have not had a hangover in quite a long time, but I remember when I lived in Spain they SWORE by the lycopene(sp?) in tomatoes. So my friends and I came up with a cure of: gazpacho (a cold Spanish garlic soup with tomatoes and garlic), I can provide the recipe I used if you need, it’s delicious regardless of hangover or not, lots of water, and lemonade followed by sangria if we were going out that night, which usually we were…. to be that young again. :) I think the tomato and water helped the most though. Are you planning for New Year’s?

roundthesoundParticipantMy first instinct is always to crack a cold cheap beer; however, they are usually gone by the time I wake up! I guess that goes back to the root of the problem…
I have to second the Pedialyte, it has always worked on my worst hangovers. It helps replace your lost electrolytes but is much easier on the stomach than sports drinks. The mixed fruit flavor happens to be my personal favorite. I also think sleep helps-for some reason it always feels better to grab a nap on the couch instead of the bed.

TammiWSMemberI forgot to mention another one – chocolate milk….
Or a really thick, real chocolate milkshake (Husky Deli….) always calms my stomach too.
And yes, naps tend to help as well.

austinMemberThe cadillac of hangover cures: Phở. I can’t speak highly enough of the post-alcohol medicinal qualities of phở. High water content to replace what you peed, spicy to clear the sinuses of the cigarette you were drunk enough to smoke last night, nominal amount of solid food matter and of variable size enough to battle even the most ravenous case of morning-after feasties. Phở has saved my life on more than one occasion. I sure hope phở is open tomorrow..

HunterGParticipantRight before bed, take some original formula Alka Seltzer.
Works every time! (For me at least)

JimmyGMember1. A large bottle of mineral water chased by a shot of decent sipping tequila (NOT the cheap stuff).
2. Follow the above with hashbrowns doused in ketchup.
3. Nap of 60-90 minutes.
4. Drink another large bottle of mineral water.

TraciMemberI tend to wake up at 5 am, drink ~3 glasses of water with tylenol, and then sleep until like 10.
Then it’s breakfast time! mmmm hashbrowns and coffee (I know it’s supposed to make it worse but it wakes me up!) and more WATER.

JenVMemberAustin, you’ve got me craving Pho now. :)

CaitParticipantI’m hittin’ up McDonald’s breakfast tomorrow. That ALWAYS ALWAYS cures my hangovers.
