banglesMemberJust to put our neighbors on alert, we live on 42nd SW in the Admiral/Belvedere area near the Charleston Cafe. Over the past months we’ve seen a rise in graffiti in our area. We have an alley behind the house. Someone very recently sprayed our fence, ADT sign and recycle bin with the # 8 or maybe a B – we suspect this may be a gang tag. Does anyone know? Our neighbor also observed a light-colored minivan parked in the alley behind our house early Friday morning. As he approached, someone quickly jumped in the back and they took off. License plate was 784-XRW. The two events may be unrelated, but it’s too close for comfort. We will be taking measures to beef up our security. Notifying the community is the first step!

AnonymousInactiveThank you for bringing this here and alerting everyone.
Have you reported the van and license number to authorities?
Keep us posted please!

banglesMemberYes, we spoke with the cops today. They will come out to take a formal report tomorrow. They also mentioned something about their “community task force” or some similar name being disbanded. They said normally, that would be the department which would handle such a report/complaint. It sounded like a budget cut thing.

WSBKeymasterWas the “being disbanded” entity the Community Police Team, perhaps? It was just the subject of a presentation at the Crime Prevention Council but nothing about disbanding – they are one person short at the moment because of an illness or disability, though.
