BlendParticipantCan anyone tell me if they got their dog spayed in West Seattle and what the costs were?

KBearParticipantJust as I would not choose some fly-by-night pedicab service, I would not look for the cheapest vet. We had a dog that developed complications from that operation later in life. Carpets and couches were ruined. Competence, not cost, should be the deciding factor. We’ve been very happy with West Seattle Animal Hospital, but we also have friends who recommend Lien Animal Clinic.

BlendParticipantfigures..i would get this response. Can I get some good advise and not some people who have to cut me down every time I want to post something. Sheesh..get a friggin life and stop hatin’. Of course I don’t want some butcher. I should have been more specific for those who are assuming I am a terrible person. And as far as the Pedicab service..it’s just a friggin’ pedicab. Get some manners and be nice. Is it really that hard??

JanSParticipantSouth Seattle Vet is great…and won’t charge as much. They are on 1st Ave. S, near 112th. Building isn’t fancy, but they have great vets…

hammerheadParticipantI guarantee it will be South Seattle Vet. NOT knowing the size of your dog….Small sizes are under $100.00 this includes pain meds. Medium 75-150.00. This also depends on the age of the dog, if older female can add about 50.00, the uterus can be fragile.
Even better mention Pamela/FCAT and you can get a small discount.
Goodluck

anonymeParticipantACC – I read nothing in KBear’s suggestion that in any way resembled a personal attack, “hatin” or bad manners. Read it again; your reaction was way overboard.
Burien & South Seattle Vets are slightly less expensive than those based in WS. The Humane Society used to list some low cost spay/neuter clinics on their website.

hammerheadParticipantThere is nothing wrong with a “cheap” vet. South Seattle Vet is a very high quality vet, while not as pretty as the newly remodeled Lein, they give great care. I see NO reason a cat neuter should be over $100.00 up to $200.00. Cat spays are over $200.00. Not up on the dogs costs, but have been told that a 50lb dog cost them over $500.00.
Both the Humane Society and Seattle Animal Control are most of time more expensive than South Seattle vet. You can get it free but you have to prove you ARE low income.

KBearParticipantSorry, AlkiCab. I didn’t mean YOUR pedicab was fly-by-night. And I know you care about your puppy. Just wanted to say that it’s important to have the surgery done right. Didn’t mean to offend, and I should have worded my response more carefully.

amaliaParticipantLein always gets my recommendation. I haven’t really compared prices, but they are certainly not substantially more than other places. Maybe the convenience would be worth a little more to you, or maybe this doesn’t help at all :).

velo_nutParticipantDo it yourself! Super cheap!
