Definitely recommend Scott Monroe! Scott’s experience with construction and his personality were the perfect combination for us in seeking our first home. It was clear from our first meeting that Scott wasn’t trying to get a “quick buck”; instead, he wanted to help us find a house that would turn into the perfect home for years to come. One reason that we chose Scott is because he knows West Seattle (WS) well. Once we found our house, he guided us in developing a competitive offer by providing clear and understandable facts about the market, the neighborhood and the quality of the home. Throughout the home buying process, he was always very responsive to our questions and proactive in providing us updates. We are so pleased with our purchase and so appreciative of Scott. We couldn’t have picked a better realtor!

Scott is far and away the most knowledgeable and helpful real estate agent we’ve ever worked with. To the point that we have sold two homes and bought one home through him in the past three years. Scott simply knows every aspect of the real estate process from beginning to the end. He has saved us literally thousands of dollars because he has extensive construction background. He knows what to look for and how to negotiate with the sellers’ or buyers’ agents on our/your behalf. He unconditionally gives you the straight-up answers whether you want to hear it or not, and not just what you want to hear. This means that you will know exactly what is happening at all times. He returns calls and messages almost immediately, all the time. How many times have you worked with agents who don’t respond to your questions or needs in a timely way? He is professional, just the best. If you want someone who has had over 20 years of experience and success and expert knowledge, who will represent you in every aspect of the arduous real estate process, Scott is your man.

Beth Britt and John McYnturff of the John L. Scott office in Westwood Village. There’s really nobody like them- they did a fantastic job of selling our house (who else drums up competing offers late on a Saturday afternoon?) and worked very hard to get us in our new home. The best!

Although this is a pretty old thread, since it’s been revived, I have to join Christopher Boffoli in heartily recommending Roger Steiner. He is fantastic for both seller and buyer, and focuses his business on West Seattle: “Fresh, local, organic real estate”! His website is http://www.rogersteiner.com; phone (206) 204-5182; email rsvprog@gmail.com.

Since this thread has been revived, I’ll simply say that all the praise for Scott Monroe on this thread is warranted. He’s a genuinely wonderful human being who is simply the most talented real estate agent I’ve ever met. I don’t just recommend you use Scott–I insist it!

ANOTHER PLUG FOR SCOTT MONROE HERE!
Scott came highly recommended to me by a family friend and for obvious reasons. Scott was incredibly knowledgeable in my search for a condo in the Seattle area. He ensured the buildings I was looking at were in fantastic condition and even helped me inspect my condo after my offer had been accepted. I got things fixed before closing and got information on potential future repairs and things to keep up that I never would have known about.
He was very patient in a long search process with multiple offers and incredibly easy to get a hold of whenever I had questions. Scott was constantly driving to North Seattle from his West Seattle office to come check out properties with me and never had a problem doing so or made it seem inconvenient.
I have already recommended him to one friend and will continue to do so. The Seattle real estate market was very intimidating to me, but Scott made it way less daunting and made my first home purchase a great one!

We recently relocated from Chicago to West Seattle and happened to get matched with Scott Monroe since he works out of the West Seattle location. I can tell you in retrospect that’s like winning the real estate agent lottery! To say Scott is attentive and knowledgeable is a gross understatement. He is an absolute expert in the Seattle area and we could tell from the first meeting through the two months it took to find our home. Throughout the trying process of finding a home in this competitive market we felt like we were his only client (of course we weren’t, as the below review attest to). His attention to detail and excellent advice were critical to making everything work. If you have a chance to work with Scott, consider yourself lucky and don’t hesitate.

Scott was very knowledgeable, friendly, and responsive, even though my purchasing power was very low. He has a wealth of information about West Seattle into Burien, what to look for when seeing houses, and what types of repairs are low cost and straight forward and what will likely be more ominous.

When purchasing my place, we had a situation where we had to make a decision with very little time, and he called up the other realtor and was able to stall for an extra hour or so, giving us time to make a better decision. He definitely knew when and how to push things.

Scott Monroe, Winderme. Scott provided the expertise and straight honesty about our property and the approach to preparing to sell. He worked tirelessly to market our a-typical property, in an a-typical neighborhood, and helped us negotiate a great deal. On top of that, he managed me and my ex-husband and all the baggage we have with our divorce. We cannot thank Scott enough for his professionalism, and friendship through an extremely stressful part of our lives.

My wife and I recently worked with Scott and Chloe on the purchase of a home in West Seattle. We were first-time home buyers, had a lot to learn about the market and home-buying process, and intimidated by the speed at which homes sell in the area today. Scott’s background as a builder and deep knowledge of local market dynamics were invaluable. At every turn, Chloe provided welcome context for how each property aligned with our goals and really helped us visualize the potential of each home.

Scott and Chloe both understood that this was a process for us, and always gave us the space to discuss the pros and cons and let our thinking evolve. We can’t emphasize enough, the value of having two partners willing to step back, really listen, and then guide the process. We never felt pressured and never felt like we were being “sold something.”

My wife and I are busy people. We work long hours and travel for our jobs. Scott and Chloe were responsive to every text, every call, and every request to get in and see a property when a window opened up in our schedule. Made a huge difference. We never lost momentum and always had the info we needed to make the next decision.

When we finally decided on “The One,” Scott and Chloe did a masterful job negotiating. There were a few tricky things to navigate and we couldn’t be more pleased with the final outcome and how they represented us through closing.

We’re sure there are lots of competent brokers in the Seattle area. Scott and Chloe are just next-level. Simple as that. We can’t imagine having had a more positive experience working with them. You should too.

michbon206: I am bringing this thread to the top to again recommend Scott Monroe (you will see my last recommendation from 2009 & all the others in the meantime). Since my last recommendation I will add that we sold our WS home in August of 2017 and bought in Normandy Park. Sold WS with Scott Monroe and bought NP with him as well. There aren’t enough adjectives to describe how amazing he is on both the buying and selling side. He will NOT disappoint and will do you justice in Normandy Park. (p.s. if you are planning on doing any remodeling or adding of square footage we should talk. This municipality is quite unique how it looks at zoning, we have been speaking/fighting our way through the City Council and Planning commission for the past year to make any changes, it’s been quite, pathological. Buyer beware.
