Was waiting for my son’s bus on Delridge by Trenton. Saw two police cars and two ambulances fly by. I hope the rider is okay.

Were they struck in the bike lane where the cop is parked?

No  they were struck in a crosswalk on the west side of Barton where it T’s into Delridge. I drove by not long after it happened. There were 4 or 5 people in the crosswalk helping the gentleman that had been hit.

I cannot believe how bad drivers are on that road. It’s insane they always cut in the bus and bike lanes. Saka’s back yard, will he say anything?

No, that’s not Saka’s back yard. He lives in North Delridge. This was in South Delridge. That doesn’t absolve him in anything city-related, but it’s not his back yard.

I believe the problem is we don’t have parked police giving out tickets anymore.    I remember prior to the year 2000 we had police parked and ticketing lawbreakers.   Unfortunately in today’s heavy crime world they simply can’t do that anymore.   I still drive slow, bc I’m expecting an officer around every hidden corner waiting to hand out tickets.   This new generation never experienced that so they drive like a bat out of hell.

Bad driving definitely isn’t an age thing.

I cannot see the image well.  Sorry, what type of scooter? The kind used by, say, Sting’s character in QUADROPHENIA? Or the kind *meant* to be used on sidewalks?

    • The Earl April 30, 2026 (12:48 pm)

No motorized vehicles are meant for the sidewalks. Hence the signs don’t roll where you stroll

Right. I’m (still) asking for clarification re: the type of scooter involved in the reported incident…

Sorry, comment time is over.
