buz13MemberKing County residents 60 and older can get Gold Cards (free) from The Mayor’s office, Neighborhood Service Centers, Community Centers and Animal Control Office. People with disabilities can get a Flash Card.
Both cards give the holder Free Admission to The Seattle Aquarium and the Woodland Park Zoo and other discounts. As long as the program runs residents over 60 will never have to pay to visit the Aquarium or Zoo……get your Gold or Flash Card today.

swimcatMemberThanks for passing along this info- I’ll let my parents know, as I’m sure they’d love to take their granddaughter to both places this summer!

JoBParticipantthe Gold and Flash cards do a lot more than just let you into the zoo and acquarium… they are also act as a public library card.. and the discounts available to Gold and Flash Card holders and in some cases to people over 60 who don’t have a gold card are substantial…
for those who wondered.. FLASH cards are only for those 59 and under who are disabled. If you are 60 or older, you get a GOLD card whether you are disabled or not.

one example is that if you are over 60, you can pay $2 for a lifetime discount card at PCC markets. who knew?
another is reduced pet registration fees..
there is a list of discounts online… what i learned from the list is that i should always be asking if they have a discount for the disabled or for people over 60… every little bit helps.

ErikParticipantAnd if you’re too lazy to go to the zoo, the Minnesota Zoo has a fun site:

JoBParticipantErik…
that is a great site… it is a great zoo as well. if you ever get the opportunity, you really should visit it. Their African tundra exhibit is phenomenal.
