celeste17ParticipantHi all,
I recently went to Tony’s Fruit and Vegetable stand on 35th and Henderson and wanted to say what great produce he has. I asked if I could get half a head of cabbage (there are only two in my house) and he said yes and immediately cut a head in half. And the oranges he had were amazing they are so juicy and flavorful. So if you can’t wait for the Sunday market for your produce go to Tony’s on 35th.

JenVMemberthanks for the heads up, celeste17. I have not made my first trip to Tony’s yet this year, and I think I will head down after work to pick up some artichokes!

flowerpetalMemberTony had some beautiful ‘chokes last weekend. They were picture perfect and prettier than any I had seen in the local grocers. Be sure to check out the $1/bag bin at the front of the store; especially for produce you might use right away. It’s our first stop when we go out for our weekly grocery shopping.

flowerpetalMemberYes! The peppers! I can buy a bag or two and take them home and roast them. Then I can use them later (and there’s 3-4 in a bag for a buck!)

RainyDay1235MemberThe $1 bin is awesome! Don’t forget to check out the fridge items too – salsa etc! :)

AimParticipantLast weekend they had some amazing tomatoes. Tony’s son was working and made us sample one. I momentarily nerded out and told him they tasted like I was 5 again. (Mom used to grow tomatoes, and we had cherry tomato wars all over our backyard…) He just laughed at me, and then agreed. We bought some and ate them up that night as a salad. yum! I heart Tony’s.

celeste17ParticipantI did the same thing when Tony had me taste some oranges. They were small (the size of your closed hand) and the taste is incredible. I am still eating them (they were 10/1.00)
