I witnessed a horrible thing that happen, one of my worst nightmares unfolded in front of me and my friend

We were behind a pick up truck and in the back seat with the window open saw a pomeranian jump out and land on it heads and roll a few times, and then dart across the street. The guy just kept driving he did NOT even know this happened.

My friend was able to corner the dog, under a bush in a fence line. I had towels, and was able to carefully get him out, yelling and screaming.

As we were heading out, my friend notices, what she thinks is the guy…..well, we haul ass and chase him down, and thank god a red light happened.

We pull over, and I am not going to lie, I lost it on him.

SECURE YOUR DOGS WITH BUCKLES OR A CRATE OR A HARNESS.

Also for those of you who like your dog in your lap, when that air bag goes off your dog is smashed into YOUR chest dead.

Again if you call your dogs your “children” then treat them as a young child secure them.

OMG how terrible, do you know if the dog is going to be OK? I as you see way too many dogs loose in vehicles and even in the back of PU trucks. Thank goodness you two were there to save him/her!

Thankyou for stopping for the Pom. You have a good soul. And I agree, if you care for your dog then be responsible and secure him.

Oh, Hammerhead, the more things change the more they stay the same. I recall 23 years ago how some of our fellow diving students would goad you into a righteous rage over treatment of critters. I can just see you (and hear you) frothing at the mouth of this mouth-breathing troglodyte.

All that said, I hate to see people abuse animals or handle them carelessly. They depend on their people for proper care and that’s the obligation we owe them when we bring them into our lives. That means restraining them in cars, taking them to the vet and paying for the care that may be required, feeding them healthy food and, well, the list is just too long to write here.

I’ll end this with a resounding cry of “Lawrence! Shut the hell up!”

That I do. I can even name every member of our class and a few interesting incidents, such as one of our number on the Responder hanging of the front as if a bowsprit naked. I also remember how much trouble that caused.

Oh, there was also finding a keg on the bottom of Lake Union and drinking it at out grad party. There were certainly others.
