Global Diving & Salvage, Inc. (Global) is the largest diving contractor on the West Coast, based out of Seattle, WA, a leading provider of marine construction and infrastructure support services in the United States, and an internationally recognized casualty responder.

We are currently seeking a Vessel Mechanic for our Seattle, WA office.
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
On-the-job training
Maintenance of all Global’s vessels
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools and diagnostic tools
Must be able to perform and complete all essential functions required of an entry-level mechanic
Loading/unloading equipment to and from jobs with forklifts and cranes
Understands basic shop equipment and possesses basic shop environment knowledge
Takes an active and lead role in mentoring entry-level mechanics during repairs
Follow instructions given by supervisory personnel
Performs work on his/her own as well as provides assistance to other employees as directed
Must participate in all company-provided training
Operates and inspects vessels to diagnose problems and/or defects and after repairs
Maintains upkeep of work area, materials, and toolsQualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
3+ years of experience in the maritime industry preferred
HAZWOPER trainingKnowledge/Skills
Ability to lift 25-50lbs. Must be able to withstand the following for up to 8-12 hours per day in all weather conditions (Sun, Rain, Sleet, and Snow): stand, walk, push, pull, squat, crouch, bend, stoop, crawl, kneel, climb stairs and ladders; repetitive reaching, repetitive hand use
Ability to meet Department of Transportation (DOT), United States Coast Guard (USCG), or Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Physical & associated fitness ability requirementsPhysical / Mental Requirements
Ability to work any day of the week both night and day
