JoBParticipantI took Yuki for a mind your own business training walk along the waterfront in Lincoln Park this morning and was pleasantly surprised to find people walking and running their dogs on leashes.
i don’t know what it took to change the culture there.. but I can tell you it made for a very pleasant morning walk

miwsParticipantI don’t know (or don’t remember, if I have indeed heard) the latest on the patrols that were supposed to be happening there, but perhaps they’ve been happening there and have thereby been happening to be successful in attaining compliance?

SmittyParticipantHope you are right, but my experience has been that the early morning dog wlakers are typically “law abiding” folk, the late risers (and walkers) not so much.
Could just be my experience though.

JoBParticipantsmitty.. if that’s true I will soon find out. Hubby does the early morning walk on weekdays and Yuki and I go out much later in the day.
Cancer finally made life unbearable for our other shiba so i am taking this opportunity to do the kind of training for yuki that was too difficult to do with two dogs in tow.June 5, 2016 at 9:26 pm #846647
JeannieParticipantLarge dog off leash jumped up on me yesterday afternoon at Lincoln Park. Very cute dog, but it wouldn’t have been so pleasant if he’d jumped up on a little kid.

CurateParticipantJoB: Don’t mean to hijack your thread, but I was thinking of you recently when I read an article on KOMO.com about a new veterinary medicine recently approved for dog noise phobia. It’s called Sileo. I have an appointment with my vet to discuss. Wanted to make sure you’d heard of it!

JoBParticipantCurate.. Thank You!
The dog with the worst problem is the one we just lost.. but i have been trying to figure out how i could get the other through fireworks season without having to leave home … i will talk to my vet about this.
Yuki is already on an anti-anxiety med which seems to be working well for him for other behavioral issues… so i don’t know if adding this would be ok.. but it sure beats leaving town for 3 weeks. -
