danelle205MemberLooking for a great cat groomer. Needs to be kind and great with cats, clean, not too noisy with dogs, and reasonably priced.

beaner66ParticipantCity Kitty is the BEST! I still make the drive to Shoreline/Edmonds to have my cat groomed since I moved to WS because Adrienne Kawamura has been taking great care of my 17 year old cat since 2002. They only do cats there which both me and my cat, Turtle, like. I assume her prices are competitive, and you get what you pay for. They do nails and even teeth too (if they are not in bad shape to start) which avoids vet $$ and anesthesia $$ for teeth cleaning. Well worth the drive for the service there!

squareeyesParticipantWow, that City Kitty Grooming sounds great; I wish they were closer as my cats would get stressed from a car trip that long.
Here in WS I’ve used both WS Animal Hospital and Muttley’s Crew Cuts. Muttley’s only does cats on Sundays so no dogs around. I don’t know what you consider a reasonable price. I think it’s around $60-$65 or so but could be wrong on that.

babalouParticipantStacy at West seattle animal hospital (jefferson Square) just gave my cat the cutest lion cut (her matts were bad). This is an awesome clinic all the way around.I also heard good things about Adrienne. I did lots of research into cat groomers and found most all groomers are 99% dog groomers and the occasional cat — Becasue cats are harder and more nervous, etc. etc. bottom line–the vet clinic doesn’t cost any more than a groomer and has vets in case kitty gets “too stressed” and needs intervention

caroleiParticipantDoes anyone know of a cat groomer who who would make a house call to cut a cat’s nails? My elderly cat’s nails get snagged on everything. He HATES his carrier and riding in the car and I don’t want to put him through that at his age (almost 18). Thanks!

squareeyesParticipantcarolei – see post #3 here:

As an update to my post #4 above, Muttley’s no longer shaves cats. They’ll still bathe them but no fur-cuts. So this year my Himalayan got to keep his fur and I get to comb out his mats (poor guy!).

SueParticipantcarolei, in the link that squareeyes just posted, I highly recommend Jackie at JW Petcare for cutting nails (they are pet sitters, not groomers). My cat was being refused at the vet for nail clipping because of how crazy he was getting with them, and Jackie was like the cat whisperer – he loved her, behaved, not a problem at all. I need to call her to come back soon!

caroleiParticipantThank you Sue! I will definitely give them a call.
