LKTParticipantA neighbor phoned me this afternoon to say that a man was in front of my house photographing the fronts of my two cars which were parked in the street. Has anyone else observed this going on? Any idea why he might have been doing it? I live in the Alaska Junction neighborhood where Again and A Gain and numerous cars were, sadly, broken into recently, so we are on guard.

christopherboffoliParticipantLKT: Speaking from a photographer’s perspective, I can think of numerous times when I’ve happened to be shooting around West Seattle that I’ve seen an interesting car (usually antique) and grabbed some images. Obviously, these cars were all parked on public streets and I’d never trespass on private property to do this. There are a lot of interesting vehicles around here, especially cool old Volvos.
I highly doubt that any of the car prowlers working in these parts are cruising neighborhoods taking pictures of cars in advance of their crimes.
PS: In this case, I was not the photographer you saw. ;-)

KevinParticipantLKT – I see “cool” stuff all the time, and if it is cool enough and I have the time I stop for pictures too.
And I was not the photographer in this case either :)

christopherboffoliParticipantThanks for asking. Still need a couple of parts to get it all working. But I’ve been preoccupied with a new Steadicam rig for flying the camera around. That requires a lot of balancing and adjustment and has been taking a lot time to get right. But thanks again for your excellent machine shop work!

LKTParticipantOK, I won’t be concerned: I guess my cars could be a little bit interesting to some people. Thanks for your comments and great photos!

christopherboffoliParticipantI uploaded the image to Flickr. And then I added a little bit of HTML and put the Flickr link in. Very easy. I’d post it here but since it is HTML it wouldn’t display. I’ll e-mail it to you Jim.
Please note: It is important to keep the dimensions within the template for the WSB site. Flickr very conveniently offers an image size that is 500 pixels wide and that works perfectly. But you wouldn’t want to go any bigger than that.

clark5080ParticipantI have smugmug so my images are hosted there just didn’t realize you could do html
lets try this
Very cool thanks Christopher I can just get the code directly from Smugmug
