hollyplaceParticipantHave you checked with the Alki Community Center through Seattle Parks? I know they do skating there on Friday Night.

timeslidParticipantTry bowling and Camp Long – Great indoor and outdoor space.

bsmommaParticipantI remember when McDonald did Birthdays…… They should do it again! I’d totally have one there!

bsmommaParticipantNot sure about the ages but doesn’t that toy store have parties upstairs now?

herongrrrlParticipantYou can rent a room at Alki for a birthday party there to coincide with a Friday roller skating night–if they aren’t all booked yet.
Doesn’t Full Tilt ice cream do bday parties?
All the community centers rent rooms, and a lot of them are very reasonably priced. Pretty sure you can rent them on weekends, too, which isn’t possible at Camp Long’s lodge last time I looked (that was a while back, though).

luckymom30ParticipantLast year we did check on the Alki Community Center for roller skating but we weren’t impressed because the space was so small for holding a birhtday party and they wouldn’t move much of the existing furniture, filing cabinets, books, etc… And the roller skating platform was the basketball gym and no rails for anyone to hold onto.
I am interested in checking out Camp Long that might be fun. Thanks everyone for your suggestions! With 9-11 year olds you can’t just get a bouncy house like when the kids were younger.

celeste17ParticipantWhat about WS Bowl?

WSBKeymasterCamp Long is a fabulous place for a party. Besides renting the lodge, you should also be able to arrange for naturalist-led walks or other activities. I think they have somewhat formalized the program/offerings in recent years – when our son (now 13) had his 5th birthday party there, it was not such a common thing, and we had to work with them to sort of make up a plan.

hollyplaceParticipantThere is an ice skating rink in Renton that looks like they do a nice party.

luckymom30ParticipantOur daughter is a very active child and she was once at a bowling party years ago it was too slow for her, she was at a gymnastics party that was alot of fun but the place closed down. A pool party is great is all the kids can swim, not everyone takes swim lessons.
I will definitely check out the roller skating place in Renton, we could also go to Federal Way for roller skating, just wish that West Seattle had a roller skating place. Wish we had a huge van that seated 10-12 kids and we could transport them all no matter the location.

swimcatMemberSkate King in Bellevue isn’t terribly far away- it’s right by 520 off of 140th Ave NE. My friend’s neice had her 6th B-Day party there last year so I’m guessing that roller rink is still open.

BonnieParticipantSkate King is still open. It looks EXACTLY the same as it did years ago. Still has the same picture with the King Dome in it.

hopeyParticipantWe are having our soon-to-be-10 year old’s birthday party at Full Tilt. Ice cream & pinball, and they will make a custom ice cream flavor for the birthday kid.

luckymom30ParticipantFunny you mentioned Pattisons West that is exactly where we held our daughters 6th birthday party, people came even though we had a horrible snow storm and everyone had a blast! I think we are going back to Pattisons West for her 9th birthday. Thanks again everyone for your suggestions!
And yes Bonnie Skate King is still open and looks like it did back in the early 80’s but it is a blast there too. We went there 2 Saturdays ago and had a great time!

QueMemberSchool for Acrobatics and the New Circus Arts (also known as Circus School) in Georgetown does birthday parties. They essentially run a class just for the party, trampoline, trapeeze, tight wire, whatever the kid’s interests are. They don’t have a place for cake and presents, but you could follow it up with pizza at Stellar’s which is pretty close by.
