pigeonmomParticipantThe Original Bakery does good work.

GretchenMemberI heard the cupcake place next to the Next to Nature pet store makes incredible birthday cakes.

CatPMemberThe place next to Next to Nature is From Coffee to a Tea…with Sugar, and I’ll second that recommendation from Gretchen. Wendy is the decorator there, and she is an amazing artist. Your cake would be beautiful as well as yummy!

GinaParticipantThose cupcake cakes are the cutest thing, the cupcakes grouped together and frosted on top to make a picture–and equal frosting for all!

GAnativeParticipantI love the little cupcakes at Coffee to a Tea… but the cake – YUCK!
I grew up with “birthday cake” being white cake with white buttercream icing so when we moved here I gave C to a T a try. The cake was beautiful but all of the kids took 1 bite (even my own little suger fiends) and said that they had enough. The cake was too sweet to eat.
I’ll have to give The Original Bakery a try…

IrukandjiParticipantCoffee to a Tea/Sugar Rush did cupcakes for my kid’s first birthday – one big cupcake for the kid decorated with a pirate ship, and a mixed selection of standard cakes with other pirate-related designs on. Nicely done. Fortunately now the kid prefers PIE.

josie2006MemberThanks all…I’ve had a cake from C to a T, but it was quite pricey for what I got (cake was a bit dry) so I’m going to try Original Bakery. I’ve had their donuts and they rocked. They told me the baker does great decorations as well and can work off of an invitation or picture to make something unique.

GAnativeParticipantAfter the C to a T cake didn’t work out I tried Bakery Nouveau’s chocolate cake; my daughter cried because it didn’t look like a bday cake but OMG it was YUMMY!

RainyDay1235MemberI’d also skip the cake and get individual cupcakes from Cupcake Royale. YUM!

CaitParticipantBakery Nouveau doesn’t have too many “kid cakes” but they look AWESOME.

josie2006MemberOK I just checked out the Mike’s amazing cakes website…those cakes are insane!! I’ve never seen anything like it.
I tried a mousse cake from Bakery Nouveau for my b-day last weekend–they taste even better than they look.

carrieannMemberLooks like you decided on a bakery already, but I was going to offer up my pastry chef sister. She’s made cakes for various occasions, both on a large and small scale. She graduated from South Seattle’s culinary arts program, and is truly amazing. If anyone is looking for someone to make them something (cakes, cookies, breads, etc.) please feel free to contact me and I’ll be happy to pass along your info and provide examples of her work. :)

celeste17ParticipantDoes it include taste test? LOL! Anything for cake!
