Okay, I’ve seen tons of Mini’s in West Seattle and am wondering if anyone has had luck with finding a local <i.e., not FIFE!> auto service to handle the scheduled maintenance? Doesn’t have to be West Seattle, but would prefer within the city OF Seattle.

I’m past warranty, so can’t see any $pecific reason to vi$it the dealer anymore, plus that drive to Fife kills a whole day and a whole lotta gas!

    Thanks mucho,

    Anne …’n my mini ‘Mattie’

I know somebody in WS personally who has one so I’ll ping them by e-mail in case they don’t see this first … TR

Dere gets my vote every time, though not specific to Minis, they are quick, honest and thorough.

Sorry, I checked with the folks I know and they get theirs serviced in … Portland. However, they suggested anybody who services BMWs around here would probably do a good job, and recommended Rasmussen (I haven’t looked up to see where in town they are) – TR

I think Fat City on Denny Way now works on Mini Coopers. I can’t vouch for their quality, since I’ve never had occasion to go there – my 2009 Mini is just a gleam in my eye at this time. Production doen’t even start till September. Can’t wait for the delivery of my “baby”! Good luck with Mattie the Mini, Anne.

Thanks for the feedback. Rasmussen does have an excellent reputation, but they are in Portland… Fat City on the other hand, I’ve heard some not so nice things about. Will try the BMW spots next.

Good Luck Jeannie on your 2009 baby. That’s how most Mini’s ended up with a name – after waiting for 9-12 months (4 yrs ago… how longs the wait these days?), it really was like welcoming a new family member!

The Loblaws have two MINIs. We have them serviced at Zahntech in Redmond (http://zahntechauto.com/) as do most of the people in the local MINI club, psmini.org.

Here’s hoping any and all West Seattle MINI owners join our club. There are 200+ fellow MINIacs who would love to help you out and hang out with you!

P.S. We had 40 of us down at Alki on Sunday. Meant to take a picture and send it to Tracy. But we ended up hosting half of them at our house for a BBQ after.

Oh NOOO, that was Sunday? I came across it a couple times while searching the Web for West Seattle events, meant to put it in the events calendar (which also serves as a tool for us not to forget to cover something), and obviously never did! Darn! Anyway, thanks for adding the recommendation here.

Well, we only ended at Alki. We started in Federal Way, taking the long and twisty route here.
