Anyone else getting missed for recycling/yard waste lately?

We get our garbage/recycling/yard waste picked up on Mondays. Other than during the snowstorm, we have it picked up like clockwork for the past 2 years – always picked up on the day it’s suppposed to be. Until last week.

Garbage pickup has been happening as usual. But last week our yard waste wasn’t picked up and I had to call it in on Wednesday and they made a special trip to get it. Yesterday I realized they never picked up recycling and had to make a call about it.

I’m wondering if this has something to do with the upcoming change of pickup day (as has been talked about) and if anyone else is having this problem. It’s just weird that what worked so well in the past is suddenly having issues 2 weeks in a row. I’m going to call them today to ask about it, but wondered if it’s happening elsewhere.

Sue, my first thought, too, was that maybe they’re getting a head start on the new pick-up schedule.

But, if that’s the case, I find it odd that the person taking your call didn’t mention that, *plus* the fact that they made the special trip, if that is the case.

Unless, not everyone involved is “…on the same page”.

(Oh yuck! I used a buzz phrase! ;-) )

I havent checked this weeks recycling yet it is behind our house. But I do know that they missd our recycling two weeks ago which somewhat peeved me b/c they picked up the bottles but not the card board in the recycling bin (it was full!) so for the past two weeks I stacked other recycling in my garage so I could bring it out on Monday. I have been so busy I completly forgot to check! Lets hope they did come…
