propcncptsParticipantOur well-established, property management company is looking for an Accounting Assistant/ Bookkeeper to join our team. This is a full time position with hours Monday–Friday, 9a–5p.
A helpful, “can do” attitude is essential as you will be our accounting department’s initial contact for clients and vendors. We need a self-starter who is professional, dependable and detailed; who values quality performance and is comfortable working independently when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree or Certification preferred
• 2+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, outlook)
• Proficient with 10-Key
• Previous experience with accounting or property management software is ideal (QuickBooks, TOPS, Yardi, Peachtree)
• Strong analytical ability and willingness to listening
• Completes tasks quickly, while paying close attention to quality and detail
• Has a work ethic that includes neatness and punctuality
• Communicates clearly and effectively
• Projects a professional image on the phone, in person and in writing
• Seeks new tasks when time allows
• Frequent stair climbing, as Accounting is housed on 2nd floor of the office/house
• Capable of carrying a 20lb box up and down stairs (moving files within office & storage)RESPONSIBILITIES
• A/R- post monthly and additional charges to client accounts, process owner and vendor deposits, import bank deposits, process ACH deposits, send client delinquency notices, answer client questions/ client reconciliations- via phone, email, and in-office visits
• A/P-process vendor payments weekly, answer/reconcile vendor questions, maintain W-9 files and file year-end 1099 reports
• Maintain client and vendor database
• File maintenance (paper and digital)
• Reconcile and file bank statements
• Process Journal Entries as directed
• Gather reports/files in preparation of annual audits
• Assist with special projects as neededCOMPENSATION is $15-$18 /hr. DOE
