I think CarDriver is correct. However, I have often had luck using the City’s “Find It, Fix It” app to report particularly treacherous spots. They’ll often send someone out to grind down rough bits and smooth cracks. That said, I agree that too many of the sidewalks are in abysmal condition–and it sure would be nice if homeowners better maintained them. If nothing else, consider it a sign of respect for your neighbors.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND GRC Prime Bath. GRC Prime Bath does not believe in customer service or customer satisfaction. The company is unprofessional and the workmanship shoddy. I am hard pressed to believe any positive review out there in light of my experience with GRC Prime Bath. Owner verbally accosted the team with profanity, and during the tirades criticized the workmanship/team’s competency leaving me concerned of the work being performed. I have never witnessed such inappropriate behavior/unacceptable conduct. After one very loud/profane tirade, owner dismissed the team from the premises. There was never a final walk through and sign off of the work. I wrote the check for the balance out of good faith at around 10PM at night after being up for 15 hours. I was told later, by writing the check, I accepted the work done. 7/24 GRC Branch Manager came to review work completed from a quality assurance perspective. GRC Branch Manager agreed that the work was not up to standard. Last visit was 9/5 to address one issue. 9/6 Upon the removal of the ceiling panel in the primary bathroom, it was discovered that GRC did not install a floor to ceiling waterproof board. Upon further inspection, the panels “wave” at the intersection with the shower basin which leads me to believe the preparation needed to install the PVC shower unit is questionable. But without tearing out the wall panels, I cannot confirm. I cannot confirm if the GRC crew who worked on my home was even qualified! Owner fired the majority of them the first day of work at my home (communicated by Owner/Branch Manager) which indicates to me this was not the first time sub-par work on an installment had occurred. I am out over $18,000 and am left with no possible way to order BCI PVC replacement parts. I am saddled with multiple repairs to address, including re-caulking the bathrooms – GRC Prime Bath does not even know how to caulk properly. I have photos and further documentation that would cause alarm to any homeowner looking for a company to renovate their bathroom(s). If I could attach photos, I would!

I deferred my entry last year but an injury kept me out of running for most of the year this time around. I can’t defer again but I can transfer to another runner. There’s a waitlist for the event, so I’m hoping someone on there sees this!

$110 covers the entry fee plus half the change fee. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Scott Monroe and Molly Kemper from Windermere West Metro to purchase our first home. We were referred to them from a family member who also had an excellent experience. From our initial conversations and throughout the whole process, Scott and Molly were friendly and professional, somehow they always made us feel like we were their only clients. Communication was clear and concise about how each part of the process would move forward, making sure we fully understood each step. As well as listening to all our wants, needs, and concerns.

Their vast knowledge of the greater Seattle area and the competitive market, allowed us to get an incredible home and deal that far exceeded our expectations, in a neighborhood we had overlooked. Our search was long, there were times we felt like we were seeking the impossible and would have to compromise on our non negotiables, but they kept the morale high. Molly was always positive and reassuring and encouraging us not to settle.

When looking at properties they both offered insights that we would not have found from anyone else. Molly, with the design and aesthetics. Scott, with his knowledge of construction. They were able to determine the quality of the structure and quickly see all of the very important potential issues that could arise with the property. They never hesitated to give their honest opinions, whether it was an amazing investment or a hard pass. They were also extremely accommodating regarding scheduling viewings and making themselves available on short notice when necessary. They went out of their way to ensure every detail was taken care of, from arranging inspections to researching potential issues with a property. Scott even went back after our final offer went in to take a closer look at some things we were still concerned about to offer peace of mind.

When we were ready to put an offer in, Scott and Molly consistently found ways to get us the best deal possible. On our final offer there were some last minute challenges and Scott and Molly moved quickly to make changes and keep us competitive. They offered insights on how we needed to update our offer and knew exactly when to submit, they were spot on with everything.

We cannot recommend Scott and Molly enough. In today’s market it is crucial to have a strong team on your side so you can confidently make fast decisions on one of the biggest purchases in your life. We were able to confidently get our dream home because of them. It feels like a dream to be living in our new home and not be stressed about a single thing. It is absolutely perfect in every way.

My partner drove around and found it most likely in a backyard 5 blocks away. I know quiet hours don’t start until 11 pm on Saturdays, but I find it odd for people to repeatedly use amplifiers for live music in their backyard in a residential neighborhood. I guess I’ll have to figure out the exact house next time so that I can talk to the owners directly.

Hi, we frequently publish reader reports of discolored water in the news section. What area are you in? Most important thing is that you report it to Seattle Public Utilities, 206-386-1800. Most often it’s a result of hydrant testing, which stirs the “sediment” – usually rust – in the line. But it can also be the result of a line break somewhere. = TR

Have you gone out to see if there’s an event at the nearby church (WSUU)? One recent weekend while driving up the hill, we noticed tents on the parking lot, and couldn’t find evidence it was a public event. Otherwise, since this area is very short on venues, the possibilities include (a) garage band or (b) somebody at Lincoln Park – TR

I dont have much time here, however. I live at the aloha inn. The address here is
1911 aurora avenue north. This is an old motel on Aurora and is ran by Catholic Community Services.
There is a man who lives here who came in last night with a rad electric bike which allegedly he took from “a house” behind the plaid pantry. He allegedly stole it within the past couple nights or days, no more.
He was in possession of this bike in the early morning hours today. He had it in plain sight in a common room shared by people who live here.
The staff here have cameras that are recording 24/7 and I am sure they would be happy to assist you in the recovery of your bike.
I will not put his name on here since it is public, but will give you his name if needed.
sorry about your bike. I hope you report this as he is continuously stealing and tape recording and sabotaging the people around the community and within his building, and so far he gets away with it.

Please, please, please! Pick up after your dogs and properly dispose of the bags. It’s so gross seeing dog mess and bags everywhere. I don’t walk through grassy areas because I don’t want to be on the lookout for dog mess or have to clean my shoes because someone left the mess behind.

    It’s common decency.

I rarely go out to eat since I am limited on what I can eat. However, for my wife’s birthday we started the day with breakfast at Luna Park Cafe. With the whole family seated at the table we had a diverse diet with 3 vegetarians and a vegan. It had been a while since I have eaten at Luna Park so as a vegetarian that does not eat cheese or any dairy, I figured I would have a veggie omelet. After looking at the menu I came across the entire page of vegan choices. This was a relief because the one vegan in our group had choices. Three of us ordered the tofu scramble. Now I remember having good breakfast times at Luna Park, especially when my adult children were young, I always ordered the south of the boarder omelet, but this tofu scramble was the best restaurant breakfast I ever had. The flavors were amazing. I do not know what vegan options there are for lunch and dinner, if they offer them, I am sure they are delicious, but this has to be the BEST vegan restaurant for breakfast.
