My freestanding and uncomplicated (no ice maker, drink dispenser, or computer stuff) kitchen refrigerator worked just fine until a few days ago when it stopped cooling. Having cleaned the coils, and checked that the power and accessible parts all seem to still work, I’m seeking recommendations for a local appliance repair that makes house calls and might find a simple and affordable fix. Thank you.

Forest: I highly recommend Scott Wiseman, 206-937-5524. He’s very honest and easy to work with and will tell you if it’s even worth putting the money into fixing your appliance vs. just buying a new one.

Dan’s son Teak Wiseman has taken over the Wiseman repair business. Teak is AWESOME and he has helped us with our ailing appliances. 206-779-2928

Thanks for the two separate recommendations. I know Dan, and bought the refrigerator from him about 15 years ago. Scott’s repair service is closed until next month, so I’ve called Teak and left him a message.

Thanks for the recommendations! I wanted to repair it myself but it turned out way more difficult than I thought it would be

I had the same issue. I realized that my fridge didn’t cool food anymore after it was a heatwave, and all the food was spoiled, and the drinks were warm. I’ve tried to fix it myself, but I think I did even worse.
