The issue here is the messenger. If you’ve paid attention to the comments you’d have discovered that all the “do away with cars” commenters have slipped up and told the truth. They own/use cars. We DO need to encourage walking/biking/mass transit but the message gets lost when the loud proponents seem to be pushing for simply to make their drive easier. And SDOT? SIGH….they’re the ones spending NO money on maintenance. Want proof? Look at high bridge. Went from fine to “SHUT IT DOWN” and making evacuation plans for businesses below overnight. Hard to trust and agree to give money to an organization that can’t be trusted

Just came back from 63rd to Alki light house on healthy street, Beach Dr. Now it has become a one way with cars bumper to bumper parked on north side of street. It has become single traffic lane. Fire department would have a heck of a time reaching any home on that street. SDOT got the bike lane in but keeps ignoring traffic issues in Seattle. This idea certainly lacked forethought.

Last night 6/3 two idiots were driving around in a gray 4 door Hyundai Sonata with Oregon License plate 618NUP shooting at people around the Westwood Village area at about 8pm. They shot at multiple cars and also people. The driver was a young African American male with lighter skin we did not see who was in the passenger seat. If anyone knows whose car that is, talk to your stupid kids, they were using long guns that looked like Nerf style guns the pellets were hard and left dents not a soft nerf style projectiles. They are lucky they didn’t get shot by somebody with a real gun. They took off to the Chief Sealth area, could possibly be students as they seemed to know the area well and were driving at a high rate of speed.

That sounds pretty unnerving, especially considering the current situation. It’s crucial for healthcare professionals to prioritize safety protocols, especially with something as contagious as COVID-19. Props to Dr. Smith’s assistant for maintaining professionalism amidst the chaos. It’s a shame that the rest of the staff didn’t follow suit. Your health should never be compromised, especially in a medical setting. As for dentist recommendations, I’ve heard good things about Dr. Jeffrey Gross in Eastlake, OH. Haven’t personally been there, but I’ve heard they prioritize patient safety, here’s the link: https://jeffreygrossdds.com/. It’s worth checking out, especially if you’re looking for a safer experience.

I agree the intersection is dangerous. I regularly witness drivers traveling at high speeds and not yielding.

Our West Seattle neighborhood has a very dangerous unmarked intersection: where 49th Avenue SW crosses SW Graham Street. Accidents or near-misses occur there routinely.

My son and I were involved in a rollover accident in 2015. Another serious accident occurred earlier this month. Fortunately, no one was serious hurt…this time.

We are asking the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) to provide either a traffic circle or stop signs at this uncontrolled intersection. Many of us in the neighborhood have watched cars drive though this intersection not realizing it is uncontrolled. We feel it is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured or worse.

Unfortunately, the SDOT does not have any data indicating this intersection is dangerous – with no reported collisions in the last three years. If you have experience or observations with this intersection being unsafe, please add your comment below.

    Thank you.

Background: Driving East/West along Graham SW, every 4-way intersection between 50th Ave SW and 35th Ave SW (for 15 blocks) is controlled by stop signs, stop lights or traffic circles. Except 49th Ave SW /SW Graham. Driving East/West, along 49th Ave SW (for 11 blocks), every 4-way intersection from SW Morgan to SW Oregon is controlled. Except 49th Ave SW /SW Graham.

Consequently, drivers travel on 49th Ave. SW and Graham SW with a false sense of confidence they will not encounter any cross traffic. Too many times they have been proven wrong with unfortunate consequences.
