SDOT has a list of approved arborists for this work. You might also contact Jim LeBlanc, SDOT arborist for West Seattle, as he should probably look at the trees first and also make a recommendation for replacement. If you’re hoping to turn the planting strip (official term) into a “parking strip” that is not allowed. Jim’s number is 206-684-4134. Thank you for following proper procedure; I see far too many street (and other) trees either removed illegally or butchered by well-meaning (?) or untrained homeowners.

West Seattle Wonder Dogs is a positive reinforcement puppy and dog training facility and we are looking for someone to come clean for us once per month. We clean and sanitize in between each class, so this would just be any supplemental cleaning that is needed. The space is two rooms totaling about 2,600 square feet, and we estimate it will take about four hours per visit.

This would need to be done when classes aren’t in session. Hours would be either weekdays between 12:00 and 4:00pm or weekend evenings after 6:00pm. Days would be flexible.

We can also provide cleaning products and equipment, if needed.

This job would include the following:

Spot clean walls – puppy smears
Two human bathrooms, which get light use.
Inside and outside windows, all are at ground level.
    Kitchen, which gets light use.
    Carpeted hallway
    Baseboards – vinyl

If interested, please use the word “Cleaner” for your subject line, and email your contact information, questions, and anything else you’d like to share to info@westseattlewonderdogs.com. No drop ins or phone calls please. Thank you! We look forward to hearing from you.

I lost my prescription sun glasses maybe on Alki Saturday April 18. They have black frames, nose pads and had keepers on them. They may also have been in a fabric/leather soft envelope-type case. We walked from Beach Dr. along Constellation Park and Alki all the way to the pier before you reach Don Ameci. I’d appreciate any info!

City of Seattle Neighborhood Service Center in the building with Southwest Pool. My passport expired more than a decade ago; I went to the center to put in for a new one, and though they warned it would be at least a month, I got the passport in the mail at home two weeks later. This was just a few months ago. They don’t take pics so you’ll have to go take one somewhere (local drugstores, also The UPS Center in WW Village) – TR

If this is OK to post here,
    A community member in west Seattle connection group recommended i may be able to share here;

my mom works at the Roxbury Safeway. I hear all the time about how much she loves her customers and that’s the only reason why she’s still at Safeway. On Thursday 4/2/2026 she had surgery due to a worker’s injury that she was denied L&I and will be out of work for three months. Every time I go into the store everyone tells me how much they love my mom, “oh your sue’s daughter” and you customers are what make her day better and keep her working there dispute the harsh unfair treatment from the company. I’ve started a go fund me to support her recovery during this difficult time.

Donate to help my mom recover, keep stabilized housing and take care of medical bills post surgery. Due to being denied works injury, she’s forced to pay her surgery out of pocket and is out of work for 3 months.
Even if you can’t donate a simple share to show her love, help’s.
Also if you happen to know if any legal advice for injury/disability that would be very helpful. We’ve had a hard fight with Safeway regarding her injury and disability.

Sorry I was late to the party, but I was so elated to hear that COS Elaine Ko had stepped down. This is not about bashing COS Elaine Ko, but she was not a stellar representative to all of D1. After many attempts trying to get assistance for our neighborhood, COS Elaine Ko tried to get a protective order because I was calling her and emailing her about issues in our neighborhood.

The courts rightfully so, granted a temporary protective order. Anyone who is being hurt or threatened should be protected as quickly as possible….But if you put down knowingly incorrect facts which you have to back peddle in court then you are not a good representative. You are an abuser of power. So I personally am glad to see she has stepped down, but unfortunately we still have a poor excuse for a CM. In court, Rob actually said in front of the judge and my neighbors that he would never help us because we were mean to his COS. Couldn’t make that up if I tried. Instead of being a leader, he dug in for the wrong reason. Didnt you hear the judge CM Rob? THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT THEIR NEIGHBORHOOD!

I am not speaking about them personally as I do not know them. Based on my experience with them, I count my lucky stars and would not surround myself with persons who are so interested in the power and not the job.

I say this from the bottom of my heart COS Elaine Ko….good! Now I dont have to worry about you waving your fist in my face anymore. But to Elaine Ko, I do wish you a happy life and retirement. PLEASE STAY OUT OF POLITICS!

Giving them away doesn’t keep them out of landfills, it just makes them someone else’s responsibility. There are biodegradable options these days, talking to your vendors about changing the materials they use would be a positive action.

If anyone happens to find a light blue Buffway wallet belonging to Heather G, that’s me!! It fell out of my pocket on my bike commute into work, so somewhere along Fauntleroy —> Alaska —> 36th —> Avalon —> Yancy —> then the bike path over the lower bridge. I noticed before getting to Marginal.

It has my license, military ID, UW card, bank cards, Costco card, and health insurance cards.

Thanks so much for helping me keep an eye out ♥️
