What a luxury that you & I don’t have the stress of having to meet the daily demands of basic survival. We can take warm showers, casually drink our espresso while fluffing with the morning news, hop into a cozy cars, sit in our padded desk chairs in cubicles safe from the elements, and eat Thai, Indian, Italian or anything we d**n well please for lunch.

Can you imagine the exhaustion that comes from not knowing if your children will eat that night, having untreated and debilitating illnesses due to lack of insurance, taking long bus rides just to get to a shower or wash your clothes, searching for firewood, remaining on guard all night long in fear of being robbed or worse, having shoes/socks that are constantly damp…
