Join King County Metro at a West Seattle Polar Plunge + Sauna – a #WhereToMetro rider event

Wondering “Where to?” this weekend?
How about a cold dip in the Puget Sound followed by a steamy sauna session to warm things back up?

Join King County Metro 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Seacrest Park for a bold (and seriously refreshing) adventure that’s all about contrast — icy plunge, cozy heat, and good vibes all around. Whether you’re a seasoned cold-water swimmer or just curious to try something new, this is your chance to do something different.

This is a FREE and public event!

What to expect

A brisk polar plunge into the Sound (take a dip and drop in anytime up until 10 a.m.)
Access to hot sauna right after via Hot Rocks Sauna
All participants must sign a waiver before taking the plunge
Metro swag!

Easy access via

King County Water Taxi from Pier 50 in downtown Seattle (*choose your travel date, first Saturday sailing departs Pier 50 at 8:30 a.m.)
Free Water Taxi shuttle Route 773 (*first Saturday trip leaves Alaska Junction at 8:43 a.m.)
Free Water Taxi shuttle Route 775 (*first Saturday trip leaves Admiral Junction at 8:40 a.m.)
Let Metro handle the ride — it’s easier, greener, and way more relaxing. Use Metro’s Trip Planner to find your best route.

Why come?
Because it’s fun. Because it’s a little wild. Because it’s exactly the kind of story you’ll want to tell Monday. Come solo or bring friends — the more, the chillier.

What to bring

Swimsuit + towel
Warm, dry clothes
Water shoes or sandals
A mug of something hot (highly recommended!)
An adventurous spirit
