Seattle Metropolitan Singers Autumn Concert, “One Need Not Be A Chamber To Be Haunted,” Sunday October 26th 2025, 2 pm

St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 3050 California Ave SW, Seattle, $20 suggested donation
The Seattle Metropolitan Singers (“The Met”) is an adult treble choir and we are welcoming new members. We rehearse in West Seattle at The Kenney on Tuesday evenings. Laurie de Leonne is our artistic director, Nathan Shiu is our collaborative pianist.

Our concert features “spooky” music including songs inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven” and Emily Dickenson’s “One Need Not Be A Chamber To Be Haunted.”

Here is a short clip from our last concert and what we are singing about to get an idea of what we like to sing:

“Then I’ll take the fire, I’ll take the fire! I sing wind and weather, hide the light forever. You will see, you will know, who I am!” Sara Quartel’s She Sang The Stars ‘Stealing Fire’ movement, wise and powerful ancient Finnish witch Louhi demonstrates her command of the elements and uses all magic available to her to seek justice against those who have wronged her.
