To raise money and support Immigrant Families Together, students and parents from the Taproot School have been selling lemonade (summer) and Hot Cider (by donation) to ferry travelers and park goers since school began in September. They gather in front of the southern Lincoln Park parking lot, with mobile sellers to catch those in line. All proceeds go to Immigrant Families Together and all supplies have been donated or created by the students and families.

So far this year, the Taproot school sold lemonade for the cause, raising $1,000 from generous West Seattle/Vashon/Southworth travellers in August and $546 from Hot Cider in October. There was a smaller crew in December who raised over $100 during the holiday break. Our enthusiasm continues as we have now organized for a regular series of Hot Cider/Lemonade sales to keep this incredible organization and cause top of mind. We are hoping the warm cider and excited kids will continue to raise awareness, spirits and funds and encourage people to turn out to support the school’s efforts.
