It’s not ALL shouting, scuffling, and rabble-rousing

In fact, there’s an olive branch of sorts extended right now across the north side of the Fauntleroy walkover — a huge banner reading THANK U, SCHOOL BOARD. Couldn’t tell in the dark if it was courtesy of Cooper, Pathfinder, or both. But it deserves a little notice while the Wednesday night rumble is still getting play.

If the banner is still up tomorrow (Sunday), please take a picture and post it online.

    Thanks.

We went out & gave it a try … sadly, our only currently functioning digital camera failed to capture it. (Which is why WSB is not awash in photos … yet … we’ll fix that, one of these days.) Anyone who does manage to get a pic of the banner, send it to me (e-mail link is on the “About WS” page) and I’ll post it for all to behold.

My apologies to the folks who wanted a pix of the banner before it came down; my two daughters and I, as well as two other neighbors, went out and performed a much needed cleaning of the West Seattle Foot Bridge today, which included removal of the above noted banner (that FYI, was indeed placed there by a fellow Pathfinder parent).

Please understand that the “Thank U School Board” sign was on its last leg and ready to come down soon if we didn’t take it down.

AND- FYI: Within an hour-and-a-half’s time, 3 adults and 3 chilren were able to remove years and years worth of debris left by previous sign posters.

Having lived within a block of the bridge for close to 5 years now, and watching it become more and more littered with tape, rope, string, wire and other miscellaneous ways of holding sinage up (love the signs though!) I thought it was time to put some action behind my frustration and take advantage of this gorgeous day.

Admin- can you find a way to kindly ask your readers who may end up hanging signs there to remove the cords… etc as well? It’s truly the gateway into our *Shire* . I mean the children on the logs is nice, but when the next thing that you see is a litter filled bridge… well you get the picture.

Okay, off my soapbox now and thanks for the space!

I know this is old news by now, but I just wanted to thank “EarthMama” and her friends & kids. The pedestrian overpass looks GREAT!!

And, another friendly reminder to folks to please go back and REMOVE your sign after a few days.

Sorry, comment time is over.
