On the WSB West Seattle Holidays page, we are still collecting info on restaurant/bar/coffee hours for this weekend, as well as any and all local retailers open Christmas Eve for last-minute shoppers – but ONE category of information is now complete: Grocery-store hours, which are as follows:

METROPOLITAN MARKET (WSB sponsor): Closing 6 pm Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
PCC NATURAL MARKETS (WSB sponsor): Closing 7 pm Christmas Eve; closed on Christmas Day
QFC/JUNCTION: Closing 6 pm Christmas Eve; open 8 am-4 pm Christmas Day
QFC/WESTWOOD: Closing 6 pm Christmas Eve; open 7 am-4 pm Christmas Day
SAFEWAY (all three): Closing 7 pm Christmas Eve; open 8 am-5 pm Christmas Day
WEST SEATTLE THRIFTWAY: Closing at 9 pm Christmas Eve; closed Christmas Day

AIDM, just remember not everyone celebrates Christmas AND this is one of the few times the union works in favor of workers at the grocery stores, holiday pay is much nicer than standard pay. When i was a bagger, I asked to work holidays. Hope everyone has a happy holiday, I appreciate stores being open.

I wanted to know which stores were open and instead of Google I figured it would be quicker to WSBlog it. I was right, of course. :) How often does a little Blog get chosen before the “almighty” Google, I wonder…

Glad to help. We’re the top Google result for West Seattle so you probably would have gotten us that way anyway. And 120,000 visitors a month, so not TOO small :) – TR

I am home and celebrating Christmas. The stores are open because the Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist and atheists folk need somewhere to shop today. Americans are so blind to other cultures. We are a mixture of peoples from around the world.
