Alki Art Fair this Saturday & Sunday: Preview the artists

One of the marquee events in what looks to be West Seattle’s biggest weekend of the summer is the Alki Art Fair this Saturday and Sunday (July 20-21) – two days of arts, crafts, live music, food, and (if the forecast holds) beautiful weather at the beach. Here are the basics:

*Hours – 10 am-6 pm for the artists’ booths both days; music till 9 pm Saturday, 8 pm Sunday
*Transportation – If you’re not coming by bus or bicycle, or on foot, park at West Seattle High School (3000 California SW) and take the free shuttle bus!

The Shuttle is supposed to go back and forth every 15 minutes between WS High School parking lot and the corner at 61st (Statue of Liberty) and 62nd and Alki Ave, across from the Bath House.

chas, how late does the free shuttle run?

I took the water taxi shuttle down to the open street fest in May, but couldn’t find the shuttle to get back up the hill, and had to hitch a ride

Music is frustrating loud for some of the hundreds of residents in apartments, condos and houses in this area. I love live music, but does it have to be so loud for the 50 or so folks gathered around the stage to enjoy it? I think they could cut the volume in half and everyone would still have a great time. And the residents in the area could put their kids down to nap, read or just hear themselves think. ;)
