Full report later, but for now we just want to let you know that the West Seattle 5K run/walk is happening right now, headed from 61st SW and Alki Avenue SW to Anchor/Luna Park and back. Alki and Harbor Avenues are closed until the course is cleared, usually 11ish. Biggest turnoout ever, organizers say – more than 1,800!
10:50 AM: The motorcycle officers just left Alki, headed east, sure sign the street’s reopening.

Did anyone find or accidentally take a backpack at the West Seattle 5k? A navy string backpack from Whitman College with navy Whitman 3/4 zip shirt, Whitman grey t-shirt, black sweatpants, light green water bottle, and black brooks running shoes inside.
