We’ve gotten some questions about King County Sheriff’s Deputies at 15th/Roxbury; we’ve been covering the situation on partner site White Center Now. One man was shot near the vacant ex-Bartell building, non-life-threatening injuries, no arrest nor even a detailed suspect description so far. Deputies closed 15th south of Roxbury for a while to investigate but were clearing the scene when our photographer was there.
I was walking outside near Safeway around 3:45. I heard close to 20 rapid gunshots, a pause, then another 10 shots with a different tone. Two different guns maybe, but a whole lot of shots. The sirens came about 15 minutes later.
That’s impressive if 30 shots resulted in just one non-life-threatening wound.
Handguns are hard to aim accurately even when you train frequently. If you can reliably hit a target more than 15 yards away then you are a crack shot.
I was in A dogs dream across the street. I agree that there were a lot of shots. I don’t know if it was 2 different guns but I also heard the pause. So lucky it didn’t hit any of the kids that were doing an event in the parking lot across from the shooting. Many of them took shelter in the pet store.
