WEST SEATTLE WEATHER: The heat is gone

The setting sun was smoke-pink, but there was good news around sunset tonight – the National Weather Service‘s heat alert expired as expected, and normal temperatures are on the way back. Meantime, the sun had a followup act – a crescent moon:

Labor Day is currently looking to be mostly sunny, with a high in the mid-70s.

I was hearing the beat goes on by sonny and cher , maybe would have been better if the title was the heat goes on , instead of it being gone ;)

Probably one of those “services” that exaggerate. Always go to the source! Here’s the actual NWS forecast for your zip

Thank you for this info! I was always wondering why my weather apps were wrong.

Is Derek wrong though? Friday is supposed to be in mid to upper 80s, and several days next week also 80°…

You sayin it’s hotter in your holler Derek?

  • Rhonda August 27, 2025 (1:16 am)

It’s still almost 70° and sticky with no breeze at 1am here in Arbor Heights.

Haha me. I love my 60s partly sunny days. And I love the smell of leaves that time of year. So happy I’ll be around for the harvest festival this year. I’ve had to miss it for years now. Looking forward to some chili cups.

Sun is the best antidote for excessive PNW navel-gazing, euphemistically known around here as “reflective,” and “introspective.”
