WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Stolen black CR-V

Reported by Gretchen at Circa in The Admiral District (WSB sponsor):

While serving last night, one of our employees’ car was stolen from the (ex-)Bank of America parking lot behind Circa. It’s a 1997 black Honda CR-V.

We are sickened that while he worked a crazy busy Sunday night shift for us his car was stolen. Anyone that sees it, please text 206-331-8954.

Plate number is BRU9800; police report # is 25-134652.

So this morning as I left for work, I went up Alaska St.  Between 47th & 48th.  Right by the Ercolini play park, on the Curb across from the park was a car 1/2 on the curb & 1/2 in the street with doors open and window’s broken out.  It had a blue umbrella open sitting on the hood.  At first I thought someone was trying to fix it, but as I got closer its bumper was almost ripped off the front and nobody was around it.  I then knew it had been stolen.  I do believe it was this car as it was Black and I thought it was a Bronco. This was at 6:30 am this morning 5.19.25.I am sorry if this was your car.  It looked like kids had taken it for a joy ride and just trashed it.

No, actually, that was a parked car hit and run by a driver in a stolen car that had since been towed. I’m writing about that separately after doing some research when several people asked.

I texted the gal who’s number you had printed. She went to look at it and confirmed it was not hers.  She did snap this picture of it as it was still there at 2 pm. She said it was a Rav 4.

Your photo shows very clearly that it’s a Jeep, as I wrote and as passersby who contacted us earlier said. RAV-4s are not Jeeps.
